Chapter 3153

Shadow Slave Chapter 3153 - Chapter 3153 An Army, a Fortress, and a General

Sunny had granted independence to Saint. Then, he did the same with the other Shadows.

Once everything was done, he consumed a great number of his shades to restore the Shadow Cores he had lost in the process. A great number of them vanished, diminishing the power of his Domain... but innumerable shades remained, still.

Finally, dazed by the pain and with his vast soul in a pitiful state, he made his way to Revel's chamber.

And here he was, explaining to her what he intended to do.

"So, that's about it... quite a genius plan, isn't it? As expected of me, the Lord of Shadows!"

Sunny grinned.

Revel let out a heavy sigh and covered her face with a palm.

She remained silent for a long time, then said evenly:

“Well, I'll give it to you. Sending Lord Nightmare to Morgan is a good idea... with a Sovereign and a Supreme Terror protecting Bastion together, people there will be much safer. The same is true for Seishan and the Shadow Fiend. Thank you for that, by the way. I don't even care about how immensely powerful he is — his unbelievable luck alone is a great asset.”

She paused and then mumbled quietly:

“Plus, he will finally have a chance to learn a thing or two from someone sane... thank the gods, that poor Devil really needs another role model..."

Sunny blinked a couple of times.

“Huh? What was that?"

Revel threw a dark look at him.

“Never mind that. That is your plan for the Forgotten Shore? Have you completely lost your mind?"

Sunny chuckled.

“Oh... a long time ago."

Then, he shook his head with a smile.

"But my plan is very reasonable. Just think about it for a moment."

Indeed, what Sunny had in mind for the Forgotten Shore was the product of a long and careful consideration. There was some risk involved, but he had a feeling that it would work out well in the end.

He raised a finger.

“Let's go over it one by one. First... the Soul Serpent."

Due to the [Grace of Shadows] Ability of Serpent, Sunny could transfer it to someone else's shadow. He had already done so with Rain, back when she was facing the possibility of becoming infected by the Nightmare Spell. She had been a mundane person at that time, though, and because of that, she had not received any real benefits from Serpent's companionship.

Revel, however, was a Saint — and an immensely powerful one at that, one of the most fearsome Transcendent people in the world even. So, if Sunny left Serpent with her, they would be able to form a true partnership. Needless to say, that was going to be a great boon both for Revel and for the Shadow Clan as a whole.

First of all, Serpent was quite possibly the strongest Shadow Sunny possessed... had possessed... at least on a technical level. It was a Supreme Titan, after all. Granted, Revel did not have a legion of shades resting in her soul, so Serpent would not be able to assume innumerable shapes as her companion — but even its natural Soul Beast form was already a harrowing force on the battlefield.

That was not the real reason why Sunny wanted to leave Serpent with Revel, though. The real reason was the Shadow Clan.

The members of the Shadow Clan had become who they were by receiving the Mark of Shadows. They were part of Sunny's Doman... but only because Serpent was a part of Sunny. If it became someone else's companion, though, they would become connected to that person instead.

Revel would be able to command members of the Shadow Clan more effectively, as well as support them with her strength. More importantly, she would be able to initiate new members into the Shadow Clan, expanding it as needed. Even if Sunny was gone for many years, the hidden force he had created would not cease to exist.

On the contrary, it would receive a chance to flourish under a new leadership. He doubted that the existence of the Shadow Clan would ever be revealed to the masses, since secrecy was required for the important work they were doing on behalf of humanity. But it would not need to remain so utterly clandestine either.

And if Sunny returned and wanted to take Serpent back, Revel could simply continue to act as the front of the whole operation. He would be more than satisfied to quietly support her from the shadows... in fact, that was only fitting for a force calling itself the Shadow Clan.

"So, you see, it all makes perfect sense."

Revel stared at him for a few moments, then glanced at her forearm, where an intricate tattoo of a graceful snake was etched into her alabaster skin. That was her own Mark of Shadows — the strongest among Serpent's offspring — and if needed, it could become a deadly weapon as well.

She sighed.

“Well, what the hell. I guess I'll need to dust off my dual-wielding technique."

Then, she shook her head in dismay.

"Still, the Soul Serpent alone would not be enough to defend the Forgotten Shore. It was the other part of your plan that bothers me."

Sunny shrugged.

“The other part is what is so genius about it! You need a fortress, an army, and a fearsome general. And look at that — miraculously, I can grant you all three..."

Saint might not have been Sunny's servant anymore, but that did not mean that she ceased to exist. The bond of trust and camaraderie between them had not vanished, either. By losing a Shadow, Sunny had gained an ally... a loyal comrade, even. And as far as allies went, one could hardly do better than Saint.

She also commanded the legion of her fallen kin. So, he had requested that she remain on the Forgotten Shore and help Revel defend it as the field commander of the human forces here. The members of the Shadow Clan had been trained by her, after all — so who was better to lead them into battle?

The general was taken care of. She was a Supreme Tyrant, as well. With Serpent and Saint, Revel was already in charge of a greater force than any other Saint in history.

Except for Sunny himself, of course, and perhaps Mordret.

That left the issue of a fortress.

Naturally, there was Mimic to fill that role.
